Dr. Scherer is an assistant professor in the Division of Palliative Care and the Division of Nephrology at NYU School of Medicine in New York City. She practices both nephrology and palliative care and runs a kidney palliative care clinical program called Kidney CARES. Her goal is to study and to disseminate a model of care that integrates palliative care with nephrology for the purpose of improving quality of life, coordination of care, and patient driven decision-making for those living with serious kidney disease.
